Brief Bio

Neelesh Misra has an iconic and unique status among India’s creators and changemakers, with a massive following that cuts across social strata, age and geography. He is loved by people of many generations, from teenagers to grandparents for his diverse work.

Mr. Misra is India’s most loved storyteller who revived the lost art of oral storytelling in India in 2011 through his radio show Yaadon Ka Idiot Box on Big FM that still has a cult following in the country among people of all generations. He has conservatively reached more than 100 million listeners across platforms. He is a prominent Hindi film lyricist, having written many hugely popular hits among his 40-odd films. Mr. Misra has written five books and has been a leading journalist who has won India’s top journalism honours. As a social entrepreneur, he runs Gaon Connection, India’s largest rural media communication platform, which has a presence in every state, including 480 districts.

He also runs Slow, a lifestyle brand that encourages people to slow down their lives and live rooted, mindful and healthier lives. The flagship of this thought is his hugely popular conversation show, The Slow Interview. It has a cult following and us watched by millions of people.

He is best known for his unique style of storytelling, which combines elements of folklore, nostalgia, and social issues. He is also a leading changemaker who has constantly pushed ahead with new and innovative content ideas that have affected tens of millions of lives in a positive manner and changed the lives of generations over two and a half decades of work.
